Forward Proton Taggers at the LHC Wednesday June 9th 2004 |

The aim of the meeting is to discuss the current status of proposals to build forward proton taggers at ATLAS and / or CMS specifically designed to search for new physics including Higgs and SUSY in central production.
The workshop will be held at the University of Manchester's Chancellors Conference Centre, which provides accomodation, meals and conference facilities on-site.

An outline of the meeting: The meeting is primarily aimed at assesing the level of support within the UK community for such a project, either on LHC start-up or as a possible upgrade. There will be a number of guest speakers to introduce the subject, including Keith Potter (the perspective from the LHC machine), Risto Orava (Positioning and requirements for detectors), Cinzia Da Via (Silicon detector design), Jeff Forshaw (Theoretical perspectives) and Albert De Roeck. A preliminary program is now available.
